Greg Taylor, Web Designer

Q: Why did you want to work for AMW Site Designs?

A: I got my web design/developer start by coding and designing custom myspace musician pages in 2007. I learned Flash and basic CSS from there on and by 2008-2009, I was coding advanced Actionscript flash websites for clients. Between 2009-2011, I worked mostly on HTML/CSS portfolio sites. I designed and developed the Bootstrap/Wordpress website of my full-time gig from 2011 to present day. I have over 10 years experience in Web Design/Development in the fields of Flash,HTML5, CSS3, and some JQuery. I have over 15 years experience in the Adobe Creative Suite, primarily Photoshop, Dreamweaver, After Effects, Premiere and InDesign. I greatly enjoy graphic design but I prefer to convert existing designs and convert them to code. I enjoy the process of seeing still images come to life.

Adrian White of AMW Site Designs wins 2015 Entrepreneur of the Year

Adrian White of AMW Site Designs wins 2015 Entrepreneur of the Year

On Saturday Dec. 5th, Adrian White, CEO/ Founder of AMW Site Designs had the honor to accept the prestigious award of 2015 Entrepreneur of the Year by the National Black MBA Association – DC Chapter (NBMBAA). After doing web design informally for the last 15+ years and formally for the last 3 she felt it was surreal to be awarded something like this. “I’m still in shock somewhat now. But I wanted to share some tips I’ve learned over the years as to how I got to a place as an entrepreneur to win awards for what I do,” says Adrian.

How Entrepreneurs can get their Business more Recognition:

    • Do what you love – Make sure you have a business or trade you feel very passionate about because when nights get late working on your business you don’t want to dread what you’re doing
    • Promote yourself – participate as a vendor in trade shows, network and talk to others about your business, nominate yourself for awards
    • Perfect your trade – you can never stop learning so make sure to stay on top of the current skills required to do your job as effective as possible
    • Make your business stand out – what makes your business different than all your competitors? What are you doing to stimulate the community? People love feel good businesses and if you have a greater purpose as to why you do what you do it will allow you to stand out more

Hope these tips help! If you have additional ones or questions about ours feel free to post in the comments.
